Where Should My Pet Have Surgery?
Spay Today welcomes you to our clinic. We are happy you are considering your options for altering your pet. We would like to take this opportunity to explain our mission and to offer guidance as you decide where to have your pet spayed or neutered.
Since opening in 2006, Spay Today has offered high quality, low-cost spay and neuter services. Our goal is to eliminate euthanasia as a means of population control in local shelters. It is far more humane to prevent unwanted births than to eliminate homeless animals once they are born.
Our veterinarians are licensed by the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board. They, along with our staff, are Humane Alliance trained and deliver excellent care to our patients. We provide gas anesthesia, pain medication, pulse oximeter monitoring, and staff monitoring during recovery for all animals undergoing surgery.
Currently, Spay Today performs surgeries for the Pitt County Animal Shelter and for many Eastern Carolina animal rescue groups. As a non-profit organization we reach out to and subsidize clients who are unable to afford to spay or neuter their pets. Although we depend on the honor system and do not require proof of income, we do strive each day to serve those most in need of our services. We were not created as a "discount "clinic for the general public to save money.
For those individuals who have a regular veterinarian and can afford their services we recommend that you have you pet spayed or neutered by your own veterinarian. We believe that your pets are best served by building and maintaining a relationship with a full-service veterinary practice. You will be helping greatly in our mission by doing this so that we can keep our appointments filled by those who most need our low cost services.
Thank you for taking the time to explore whether or not our clinic will best serve your needs. We are all partners in solving the pet overpopulation problem here in North Carolina and in making our community the best it can be for our animals!
