The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina is a non-profit, no-kill organization. They focus on educating the public about being responsible pet owners and housing animals until they find permanent homes.
Saving Graces 4 Felines is a state approved “No-Kill” shelter. Since its opening in 2002, more than 2,000 cats have been placed in homes. Along with finding homes for cats, Saving Graces also assisted in opening Spay Today as a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs intended for low-income families. A long term goal includes trapping, neutering and returning feral cats back into their colonies.
The Marley Fund focuses on the fight against feline retroviruses [feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses], mainly through promoting awareness and educating the public. The Marley Fund is the only national nonprofit organization that offers a safe haven for infected cats, rather than immediate euthanasia. Through the use of a foster network infected cats as well as non-infected seniors or those with disabilities, make a smooth transition into their new homes.
Pitt County Animal Shelter The Pitt County Animal Shelter keeps their petfinder page updated with new dogs and cats every day.
Mission Fish, in cooperation with the Ebay Giving Works program, helps non-profit organizations set up accounts that Ebay sellers can donate 10-100% of their profit from items they sell, to the organization of their choice. David Edwards, sells his New Orleans style paintings on Ebay, and donates 30% of his profit to Spay Today.
Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter Pitt Friends is a non-profit group that helps at the Pitt County animal shelter and also pulls many animals out of the shelter into foster homes, until permanent homes can be found.
